The Uttar Pradesh government has taken strict action against five officers who were absent from a review meeting chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in Gorakhpur, the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) said on Sunday.

Divisional Commissioner Anil Dhingra ordered the stoppage of their one-day salary and also recommended departmental action against them.

Those penalised include the Project Managers of C&DS Units 14, 19, and 42, the Executive Engineer of Uttar Pradesh Rajya Nirman Sahakari Sangh (UPRNSS)-I, and the Principal of BRD Medical College.

Earlier in the day, CM Adityanath held a Janata Darshan outside the Mahant Digvijaynath Smriti Bhawan after staying overnight at the Gorakhnath temple. He met nearly 200 people, listened to their grievances, and instructed officials to ensure quick, transparent, and satisfactory redressal of issues.

“The government is committed to addressing every concern of the people. There must be no delay in resolving public issues,” the Chief Minister emphasised, adding that strict legal action should be taken against land encroachers and those exploiting the poor.

He also assured financial support for individuals seeking help for treatment of serious illnesses, directing officials to prepare cost estimates promptly and forward them to the government.
